Streszczenie wykładu Abstract of the talk
Motivated by increasing experimental evidence of the exotic magnetism in
low-dimensional iron-based materials, I will discuss the magnetic and
electronic
states of the multiorbital Hubbard chains and ladders. Iron-based
superconductors
display various phases originating in the competition between electronic,
orbital,
and spin degrees of freedom. Prominent among these novel effects is the
orbital-selective Mott phase (OSMP), where interactions acting on a
multiorbital
Fermi surface cause the selective localization of electrons on one (or
more) of the
orbitals. As a consequence, the system is in a mixed state with coexisting
metallic
and Mott-insulating bands. In my talk, I will show that the magnetic ordering
associated with the low-dimensional OSMP combines phenomena known from
cuprates with
those found in manganites. I will discuss the block magnetism (ordering
similar to
the stripes found in cuprates), the chiral magnetism without frustration, the
phase-separation-like phase akin to the manganites, and the novel quantum
spin flux
phase. Furthermore, since the system is in the overall metallic state, I
will also
discuss the electric properties of the OMSP.
