Are tachyons physical?

The short answer is: they are not.

I will give a long answer. After a definition of what I mean by "physical",  I will explain  the flaws of various attempts to define tachyonic quantum field theory. My talk is inspired by recent discussions at our Faculty of Physics about tachyons.
